CTG (Chelsea Technologies Group)

Algae Monitoring

  • The new ALGAE-Station and ALGAE-Station Pro systems provide real-time display of key Chlorophyll parameters necessary for the management of the water treatment process.
  • Data is collected using our highly sensitive range of miniaturised, LUX submersible sensors and are then displayed on the permanently installed Watchkeeper wall mounted unit.
  • As well as being very sensitive, our fluorometer sensors are optimised for low noise results. Warning alarms, sampling rates and the dynamic range of the sensor are user adjustable.

Bacterial Monitoring

  • CTG’s BACTI-Station and BACTI-Station Pro systems allow laboratory managers, process scientists and engineers to assess real-time levels of bacteria in water systems.
  • This is achieved by detecting UV Tryptophan fluorescence, which has been shown to correlate with bacterial levels.
  • The BACTI-Station comprises of a CTG UviLux fluorometer and a Watchkeeper wall mounted data display and logger.
  • CTG’s UviLux fluorometers detect UV fluorescence with industry-leading sensitivity and selectivity and have been optimised for minimal interference from water turbidity.

BOD Monitoring

Biological Oxygen Demand

  • CTG’s BOD-Station and BOD-Station Pro systems allow water process engineers to assess real-time levels of BOD in water systems.
  • This is achieved by detecting UV Tryptophan fluorescence, which recent publications have shown correlates with the standard 5-day Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD5) test.
  • The BOD-Station comprises a CTG UviLux fluorometer and a Watchkeeper wall mounted data display and logger.
  • CTG’s UviLux fluorometers detect UV fluorescence with industry-leading sensitivity and selectivity and have been optimized for minimal interference from water turbidity.

CDOM Monitoring

Coloured Dissolved Organic Material

  • CTG’s CDOM-Station and CDOM-Station Pro systems allow utility operation managers, process scientists and engineers to assess real-time levels of coloured dissolved organic matter (CDOM) in water systems.
  • This is achieved by detecting UV CDOM fluorescence, which has been shown to correlate with organic levels in a wide variety of water environments, providing significantly enhanced improvements in sensitivity over conventional absorbance methods.
  • The CDOM-Station comprises a CTG UviLux fluorometer and a Watchkeeper wall mounted data display and logger.
  • CTG’s UviLux fluorometers detect UV fluorescence with industry-leading sensitivity and selectivity and have been optimised for minimal interference from water turbidity.

DYE Tracing

  • UniLux is a low cost, miniature fluorometer for in situ operation. The sensor includes an array of LEDs to provide intense fluorescence excitation, which enables highly sensitive dye detection. The use of fluorescence quality bandpass filters provides target selectivity with excellent turbidity-rejection.
  • There are two configurations available which are typically used for dye tracing operations:
    • UniLux Rhodamine
    • UniLux Fluorescein
  • Rhodamine or Fluorescein are often incorporated as tracers in a range of chemical products, making UniLux a suitable sensor for tracing these formulations.
  • If you are unsure whether UniLux can detect your products, please contact us for confirmation.
  • UniLux can be combined with the CTG Hawk handheld display and logging unit to form the portable DYE-Wader system.
  • It can also be combined with the Watchkeeper wall mounted display and logging unit to form the permanently installed DYE-Station system.
  • UniLux is suitable for a number of different applications including monitoring within waste water treatment plants during commissioning operations, discharge monitoring into rivers and estuaries, leak detection, cross-contamination and borehole connectivity.

Turbidity Monitoring

  • The TurbiLux is a sensitive, low cost digital IR turbidity sensor designed for compliancy with ISO 7027:1999 standard that offers the user significantly increased functionality when compared to existing turbidity sensors.
  • The TurbiLux can be deployed in a wide range of applications including flow-through systems for process monitoring and in-situ deployments in rivers, lakes and oceans.
  • The TurbiLux has an acetal resin housing suitable for deploying independently as well as from submersible vehicles, moored or profiling systems.
  • This robust, compact, lightweight turbidity sensor has very low power consumption, is easy to use and gives accurate and repeatable measurements.
  • Two alternative sensors are available for use within the Turbidity-Station, one based on back – scatter (UniLux) and one based on 90deg scatter (TurbiLux)
